SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine), a compound native to the body, is a component of many biochemical reactions, including those that affect brain biochemistry and joint health. SAMe is critical for the synthesis of neurotransmitters, is important for energy production in the brain, contributes to the maintenance of healthy cell membrane function, and influences cartilage metabolism.

SAMe has been used to treat liver disease, osteoarthritis, age-related behavior changes, and other cognitive and nerve disorders in dogs and cats, as well as being used as a complementary therapy to help treat canine cognitive disorder.

SAMe (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine)(from S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine Disulfate Tosylate)

Other Ingredients:

Hypromellose (cellulose capsule), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide and Stearic Acid (vegetable source).

Natural color variation may occur in this product.

Contents: 60 Veg Capsules

Dosing

• Under 20 pounds:  100mg (1/2 capsule) daily 
• 21-40 pounds:   200 mg (1 capsule) daily
• 41+ pounds:   400mg (2 capsules) daily

Should be given one hour before or 2 hours after a meal - ideally should be given on an empty stomach. If GI upset occurs when given on an empty stomach, it can be given with a small amount of food. For pets under 12lbs, the capsule can be opened, half the contents mixed with a small amount of water and syringed into mouth.
