Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like compound that plays a central role in cellular energy production. CoQ10 is found throughout the body, but is especially concentrated in the heart, liver, and kidney. CoQ10 works as a potent free radical scavenger in cell membranes, as well as within blood vessels.

CoQ10 is a factor required during energy production in muscle cells. Thus, CoQ10 supplementation may support energy availability for cardiac muscle contraction. CoQ10 may support heart muscle cells from injury through its antioxidant action. Thirdly, CoQ10 was found to combat vascular resistance, therefore allowing blood flow from the heart to move forward more easily.

Administration

Administer 1-2 mg/lb of bodyweight when using for maintenance care and 5-10 mg/lb of bodyweight when supporting heart conditions depending on age, breed, and condition.
